Got to love technology. Thanks to FaceTime I got to see my family every single day during my stay.
Got to love technology. Thanks to FaceTime I got to see my family every single day during my stay.
And just like that, my stay in Pittsburgh is almost done.
Every weekend I’ve planned a different activity, I’ve been to other parts of town, I’ve been to the Carnegie Mellon Museum of Natural History, and had tried different eating places.
This week my plan was to rent a car and drive to the outskirts (eventually to mount washington). After googling a bit for rent a cars, only Avis would rent a car with GPS. So I made a reservation, and took a 30min bus ride to downtown to pick up my car. After spending 20min waiting for my turn, and signing all the paper work I get to my Ford Focus. Know what ? No GPS! So I get back to the office, and the guy in the desk says: “oh I’m sorry, the only GPS we have is broken”. Great… I just spent half a day to go nowhere…
Nonetheless I did walk a bit around downtown, lots of skyscrapers and few people around.
So I guess my last weekend in Pittsburgh will be spent either at “home” or the office.
Trying to sleep (don’t mind the light, it’s from the camera)
I’m now about halfway through my stay.
This week time sure went by real fast as I been keeping my self busy digging into tashi and more recently into openstack trying to run a comparison on the two (heads view: they differ on has many things as they share).
Given the time available it feels good to get back to basics, and digging relentlessly through code. Nonetheless my attention still gets pulled back to Aveiro now and then with pressing issues that require my attention and can’t wait for my return.
Looking forward for 3 more weeks!
One of the few perks of being away from home is that I can go to movies any time.

Excelent movie, great plot and best possible closure to the all trilogy.
